The American Division and Central Division are the two divisions for college ice hockey in America. The regular season lasts fourteen weeks and includes four conferences. The Atlantic Hockey Association, or the league's minor-league team affiliates, is the first division. The NHL, or the North American Professional Hockey Association, is the second division and includes teams from both conferences.

These two conferences will play against teams from the United States, Canada, and possibly some international teams. The USHL Frozen Ice Classic tournament, which determines which team will be playing in the NCAA tournament, is the most important. The tournament determines the eventual champion. There are sometimes wild card teams that compete alongside regular season winners, but all teams play each other in main event.

There are many names for college ice hockey in the United States. There are two main ones: the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Ivy League. The Ivy League is primarily located in the Eastern Conferences, with the ECAC located in the Western Conferences. The NCAA is the other major league, also known as the National Hockey League (or the NHL).

Scholarships for college ice hockey are awarded based on a player's performance. The scorers score each game, not the players playing. Based on their teams' defense and offense, coaches assign players to specific teams. A true forward might only score a handful of goals per game, but he won't be awarded if he is among the top two forwards on the team. Same goes for defensemen.

There are many tournaments that you can play all year long. These include the Beanie Cup tournament which is played between the top teams from each conference. Teams from the Pacific Division, Central Division, and Atlantic Division compete each other to claim themselve champions. The championship will be decided by the first and third place winners of each conference. Teams that fail to make it to the final round must play against other teams that have earned a spot based on their performances.

The United States also has international ice hockey programs. These programs allow college teams to play against international players. The United States National Team Development Program is one example. These teams often play in international tournaments against other teams. These players are awarded a contract that allows them to travel to other countries as representatives of their country.

Each division includes teams from its region. The majority of teams in Central division for example come from the Central part of conference or the North Central part. This division has a different conference schedule than other division teams. The best thing about the College hockey is your chances of reaching the big show. This events are always pleasant to watch, brutal, fast-paced and colorful.
